Teacher Cards

To apply, bring your school ID!

  • WHO? - Reading specialists, teachers, tutors and teacher aides in any Pekin school, public or private (including Rankin)
  • LIMITS? - Unlimited items may be checked out for up to one month
  • FEES? - No late fines; limited responsibility for lost or damaged items
  • EXPIRE? - Cards are valid for one school year
  • WHERE? - Only valid at Pekin Library
  • TYPES? - Materials for the classroom only (not personal use items)
  • HOW? - Bring your teacher ID to the lobby Information Desk, and fill out an application. In about 5 minutes, you will have your Teacher Card!

Class Visits

We welcome class visits to the library!

Visits can be set up on a repeated basis (every 3 weeks, etc.) or as a one-time trip. Bus grants are also available. Youth Service staff can:

  • Give a tour of the library
  • Demonstrate searching our online catalog
  • Pull a collection of books in advance for a project on a special topic
  • Read a story to your class
  • Provide a story/book-related activity

Multi-Media resources offer direct access to classroom-ready, curriculum-targeted, FREE digital resources. Browse videos, inter-actives and in-depth lesson plans by standards, grade level, subject area or special collections.

In School Book Groups

7th and 8th graders have access to monthly after school Book Groups held at your school. Led by a library teen specialist, these groups are free of charge, with books provided. For information, contact your school office, or email:
