Get a Library Card
Pekin residents within the library tax district can receive a library card at no extra cost. Residents outside the district may apply by paying an annual non-resident fee that covers the entire household.
Meeting Rooms
Reserve a meeting room for study sessions, group projects, local gatherings, or small events. Pekin Public Library offers welcoming spaces for community use, with room options available based on availability and library guidelines.
Frequently Asked Questions
To get a library card, visit the library or apply online for your card. Most Pekin and South Pekin addresses already pay through the property tax bill, so there is no extra fee.
The Library’s operating hours are:
Monday-Thursday, 9.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m.
Friday, 9.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.
Saturday, 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.
Yes. As a library member, you can browse the digital collection and borrow e-books or audiobooks through the library’s digital library using your card.
You can return books and materials in person or via our convenient 24/7 drop-box. We have a drive-up book drop on the west side of the building, and books can also be returned inside during regular hours.
Our study rooms, intended for use by 1 to 6 people, are first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved in advance. Larger spaces, including the Community Room, Conference Room, and Lounge, are available to reserve online in advance.
